Indian Women’s Cricket Team to Play Test Matches against Australia and England in 2023-24 as Part of Future Tours Programme (FTP). India will participate in FTP from August 2022-2025 featuring two Test matches, 24 ODIs, 36 T20Is between them all from August to January. According to an ICC release “Thanks to an effort from Member Nations the Women’s Championship has now expanded from eight teams to 10 Teams; giving more games for teams than before.”
The 2022-25 FTP will feature more matches across all formats than ever before in a bilateral series, totalling over 300 matches overall.
Wasim Khan, ICC General Manager of Cricket, described today’s event as an historic one for women’s cricket. This FTP event laid down the groundwork for future development of women’s cricket as well as serving as a precursor for an ICC Women’s Championship which will eventually drive women’s cricket forward to new levels.
